Watch out for Kurt Busch...dominated the race last year only to have bad luck at the end. They seem to have their plate races down to a t.

Matty 17 is gonna be in the mix, he's a good Plate Racer, just has had different variations of bad luck / bad timing

Wow! Not one Rousch car better than 25-1. I look for Truex to be in front group, I would make him at least 8-1.

racing odds are crazy, though, it's not as if you can compare and decide due to the wild variability or a 43 car field, whereas the worst car can very likely KO a half dozen of the best cars...Honestly, there is a better chance on the Roulette Wheel than a NASCAR race

Maybe Kyle Petty, Kyle Bush, Gillaind, Riggs, Michael Waltrip, and Robby Gordon won't make the race, thereby decreasing the odds of the "big one".

I like Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Daytona 500. The guy knows how to get around that track as well as anyone and now he has more HP and a better handling car to do it with.

I think it would be cool to see Jr. win the 50th Daytona 500. That place would be rockin' if he pulls it off.

Until the latter part of 2007 he had more than enough hp, usually the faster of the restrictor plate races. He just might get a better handling car, but he still has the same Crew chief, so I'm not so sure.

It will be interesting to see & hear the reactions from the Jr Nation if he does no better at HMS.

He won't have to worry as much about blowing engines. :good!:

It will be interesting if DEI has no more engine woes, what the conspiracy theorists have to say. But you are very right, HMS engines are strong and stout. My gut just keeps telling me Jr will have a so-so 2008. The 24 & 48 seem to get "more equal" stuff. Of course it might be more equal drivers.

Harvick might want to look out for that guy he edged at the line at last years 500. Mark "The Kid" Martin will be lookin' to show his strength again.

If i was betting based on those odds I would put a grand on Tony (16:1). He's pretty much had a dominate car at all the restrictor plate tracks. He is always up front. It will be interesting to see how Gibbs move to Toyota works out. I'm pulling for them:unsure::popcorn::crossfingers:

Altough I most likely will not pull for him, I've already said he is one to watch. I find myself pulling for different drivers in the course of a race, and if it comes down to either Stewart or Gordon/Johnson, I'll be yelling go Smoke.

If Jr. can't beat what he's done the last two years at DEI in his first 2 years at Hendrick he will never do anything.....He definitely won't have an excuse to have a poor showing. I'm ready for it to start and see what he's got this year
