Will Hill - Football Recruiting

He has no stars so why would we even consider him.....Right govols182?

You have no brain, so why should we listen to you? Like I've stated before in other threads, there is plenty of time for guys to improve their stock. Also, looking at his offer list there are some really good schools. I don't mind getting lower rated guys, I just don't want to have a class full of 2 and 3 stars and hardly any 4 stars.

Completely agree.

I'd be interested to see a breakdown of our starters in 98 and their star rating. Anybody have that info?

I'm just messing with you man. I definitely know where you are coming from. We do need to get higher rated players to compete in the SEC, but the stars do not measure the amount of heart and dedication of the player. I don't know why we put so much emphasis on websites that rank players. Like someone said earlier, I would rather have a 3* who was dedicated to the VOLS than a 5* who is selfish and thinks he is better than everyone else. Also, I didn't know Tennessee gave out degrees to people with no brain.

You're the only one.:p

I think Bill Battle recruited instate players "with heart" but had lesser talent and look how that ended up. I could be totally wrong, but i remember reading on here about this and that we shouldn't do it.

A good, competative class should have at least 85% of its players ranked 3-5 stars IMO.

For example, a class that looks like this when broken down out of 25 players: Five star players: 2. Four star players: 8. Three star players: 13. Two star players: 2.

This is a good class by anyone's standards and I think we have a realistic shot at this this year.

Hill would be a great start to getting a good Dline class. With his size he could easily be converted to DT

USC fans would have a meltdown with that class and half would jump off the bandwagon.

Remember, the whole 2009 class will get reevaluated as this season goes on. People will move up and down. If the coaching staff likes someone, regardless of whether they have the "stars" or not, they are going to offer.
