agreed. seems to me his best bet would be to stay in state....and do it early if he wants to get some good recruits in there around him....don't forget, AR running game should be very good, which will help any qb.

He's a politician in the making:

“It’s the dead period [for recruiting ], so I haven’t talked to anyone hardly at all,” said Mustain.

We know Cutcliffe paid him a visit per Rivals.com. Supposedly Charlie Weis did the same.

they outta call him bobby bouchet. His mama seems to to be the mouthpiece in all this., possibly seeking that early retirement option. I really hope he's as good as momma says or they laugh him all the way back to Huston Nutt.

Sounds like he is in direct contact to me, I guess this is a loop hole to talk to a recruit.

Former Springdale Coach Gus Malzahn cannot have direct talks with Mustain during the dead period after becoming offensive coordinator at Arkansas, but the two have been in touch.

“I haven’t talked with [Malzahn ] yet, but I’ve gotten letters from him,” Mustain said. “I’ve kept in contact with his family.”

I'm trying to find the source but I heard on one of the recruiting shows he said four schools are on his list right now: Bama, Arkansas, ND and UT. Rivals has those four as his top tier.

I heard an ESPN college recruitung guru on today's Herb Winches Show out of Birmingham say that he expected Mustain to wind up at Tennessee. I forgot the guy's name.

I saw him on CTSD last night and his comments about ut were farily optimistic....Cut has already laid some good ground work, and it seemed as though the thought of working with a guy that has developed the mannings has peaked his interest. I think this kid is looking to find a guy that can really tutor him in to a next level qb....and i think UT has as good a shot as any at this point. his nod to bama was a little shocking, and he didn't say much about them, but who knows....they obviously have a need, and that should keep them in the mix.

mitch's mom accually does not want him to go to AR...

she said that "i dont want AR to base the program around him, he is a young man, and it is not his job to turn the AR program around"...

i think that at UT he will not have any pressure of being the "turn-a-round" guy. we are an established program and i think that he will come and be a VOL!
