If I were tht UT atlethetic director I would send the following letter to CPF:

Dear Coach;

This letter is to notify you that there will be no pay raise this year fo you or your staff. The reasons are very obvious. Futhermore, I hereby notify you that the National Championship capital from 1998 is all gone. Your future as head football coach will now depend on results of your teams in the next one to two years and NOT what you have accomplished in the past.

As you have stated yourself, Tennessee football is about winning championships. Tennessee football is also about disipline, adhering to Generel Neyland's maxims and wearing the orange with pride. It's also about developing leaders on the field such as Eddie Brown, Dale Jones and Al Wilson to name a few. Sadly, these have been lacking the past 6-7 years.

Coach, we are all pulling for you to ressurect the football program. The upcoming assistant coach hires will be critical. Choose wisely!

Production....that's the key. Take all the fluff games out of the win column and what is Fulmer's winning percentage? There are some here who tout his winning percentage. What happens when you look at the big games? What is it then?

And NFL calibre players is key as well. We used to dominate not only the SEC but the country with packing the NFL with top calibre talent.

Also add this as a post script: Let's start next season with a little ass-chewing of the players when they make stupid mistakes and get rid of the hand-clapping except when something good happens.
