Don't pay much attention to the fools on this site they can't help themselves. They have been through some tough years and don't know who they can trust.
If you could do some things to help ROCKY TOP out we would appreciate it very much.

1. Put the wall back up around Tn borders.
2. Pluck as many top recruits as possible.
3. Get one hell of a D coordinator as you will need one.
4. Bring in some former VOLS to help you out.
5. Make contact with all the local coaches in your territory.
And
6. Win the east!!!!!!!!

Anything else you can do to help wont be held against you. :peace2:

Good post, though it's up to him to hire former Vols. It would be nice, but would rather him hire those he's comfortable with than feel pressure to hire from within.

Most of all, Welcome to UT, coach! I am proud to have you!

As long as he brings a DEFENSE I don't care who else he brings. It would be nice to bring some people familiar with the SEC AND TENNESSEE. But if not the D is not optional.

You're calling fellow fans fools, yet you write a message to a coach that will never see it and give pointers of how to succede as though he needed them. Hell, I'm suprised you didn't add (6.) Just win.

Loving the hire. It almost makes me not want to be a vol fan hearing all this hate. Either way, if you like him or hate the hire, he is our coach so get over it. He's intense and no nonsense guy which is what everyone on this board has said we needed. And guess what, He's a proven winner unlike or last hire. If it works out, Great, if not, oh well he gave it his all. He's our coach so get over it. We need to support him and hope for the best. Get on that recruiting trail Butch Jones

Well, if it's official, then we simply have to redirect all our efforts to Coach Jones. Can he win in the SEC? I don't know.
I took a job once in PA where I had total control and the freedom to make whatever changes I saw fit, and I did just that. All of the Yankee boys did everything in their power to make the Southern boy look bad. It was a very lonely time without their support, but I got rid of the rif-raf and quality improved and we moved back up to the top in that area.
My point is, a coaching change is hard enough to pull off, but gripers and whiners destroy the coaches fan foundation that must be solidly behind the program.
The only game I was able to go to this year was Troy. I didn't realize how "un-loud" the crowd was until late in the game on some goal line plays. We also, have dropped the ball in that respect. Low attendance, low noise, constant complaining, etc;.
This may turn out to be a really good hire and as of today, he is our coach, our players and recruits are our boys and this is our school and we need to proceed from here with the full intent to win the division. Until shown otherwise, as of today, we are #1 and should act and conduct ourselves like it.

Agree 100%.....The last 5 years have given me a really good gauge on how people really are! You may not always like who is leading your team, But, you should always support them. Butch Jones hasn't coached a down yet....Im willing to give him a shot. I'm a diehard Vol and Brownie....I will always show my support.

It was always fun to go to Neyland, I think it is one of the greatest experiances one can encounter. The 90's spoiled a good portion of the fanbase. I remember when times were fun when it was ok to win the SEC occaisionally and get a Sugar Bowl appearence. When you start having success, some don't know how to handle it. They have never been there before!!

Tennessee fans, Act like you have been there before. The last time I went to Neyland was 2010, it was the worse crowd I have ever been a part of. That's coming from a guy who has been going since 1970. That is also coming from somebody who has seen a Pro football game in Cincinnati(they generally top the list).

If the shoe fits wear it. And that's what they are acting like. I know he won't see this. I'm no fool lol. I have not choice but to like the coach as he was chosen by UT. I am TENNESSEE FAN FOR LIFE!!!!!!! Just like marriage. In the GOOD, the BAD, in sickness and in health. Forsaking all others till death do us part!!!!! Go Big Orange. :loco:
