Not giving up on the team, but anyone who thinks this team is being prepared and coached up... especially the defense and even special teams today... needs to open their eyes.

They are not learning some of the basic fundamentals of football (e.g. angles, coverage, positioning) and that has nothing to do with talent... it's coaching.

combination of talent and coaching. more coaching on special teams and talent on D. besides sutton the entire D backfield sucks terribly.

Haha are you serious?? You expect poor coaching and recruiting by the past staffs for 3 years to be fixed by a new staff in 11 months? It's still the same players

Watch it! Your on dangerous ground here. Questioning the staff or even remotely suggesting that they may not be doing the best job will get your intelligence questioned.

Well Mark Richt has fired two coaches during his tenure at UGA. They're both in this staff. So probably not a surprise.

When he makes a dumb statement like blaming coaching for a bad defense with no speed being due to coaching ...you're right.

Talent has very little to do with teaching players how to fill their gaps. The fact that some of our players "may" be a little slower than others has nothing to do with the truck sized gaps that can be found. On many of the long runs the Auburn players aren't even being touched.

Take a look at the replay of one of their earlier long runs. Coleman is being blocked, and rather than positioning himself to the outside of the field... forcing the runner back to the inside where the ENTIRE TN DEFENSE is located... he turns to the inside and gives the running back an open lane to the end zone.

Our defensive coaching is not good... period.

Dude you can make Do-do into steak no matter how good of a chef you are. Our Defense is the do-do and the D-coordinator is the chef.

We are worse than pee wee in covering and getting to the edge. And have been consistently horrible all year.

Chris Christie could consistently get first downs against us by getting to the edge

Give me a break! Nothing dumb at all about his statement. Are you seriously going to try and tell all of us that the result on the field is not a direct reflection of the coach?

Speed is an excuse to use when there is no other excuse. Its true you can't coach speed, but you can coach schemes, angles, lanes etc. You know all the things coaches are supposed to do.

Oh, and here's a good one for you: Tackling! One of the most fundamental aspects of playing defense. Which obviously we have no idea of how to do or coach.

Rather than repeating the "we're too slow" statement of fan conformists, how about doing some actual research and coming back with facts as to how much slower our starters are versus the teams we play.

How much difference does a 4.6 make versus a 4.5 in actually playing field position and knowing how to take appropriate angles?

Sorry GAVol... you're way off base.

A coach can also change some things. And we obviously are not.

Jesus Christ. Put 3 players out there or something cause nothing we have done remotely works

Playin to much man to man, run a zone, with aj As a spy. He can't play zone or coverage, but he could stick Marshall in the spy

This defensive coaching staff has not shown the ability to make adjustments. Thats not good coaching.

I've been a TN fan for a very long time but I'm sorry volnation I just can't watch this crap no more. I'm getting tired of watching us get beat in to the damn ground every saturday. 2 drives with 4 plays and 2 TD that is ridiculous. This tm in my opinion is getting worse as the season goes on

If our D at least played high school level, we would be killing them. Either fire the D coordinator or forfeit- our special teams and defense is not prepared and can't make basic jr high plays. We are easily getting worse on D every game. Not panicking, just plain obvious lack of coaching.

We had a complete change of coaches from last year. One thing has stayed constant-the players. We are getting similar results. So, what do you think the main problem is?

You should apply for the DC job as I am sure they are being taught wrong in practice.
