The Iowa Defense scored twice against Kentucky today. So Defense does win some bowl games.

In the end, on the last drive, it was Georgia's defense that held Ohio State to a field goal attempt. So, yes, defense wins championships

They let them get in easy game winning fg range from their 25 with only 50 second left. Big fail. It's not like they made them kick a 50 yarder.

They lost 2 yards in 3 plays that started at the 31 an ended at the 33 forcing a 50 yarder. TCU had 2 pick 6 in them 51 points which they needed to win. So defense did have a impact in both games. Great plays on both sides of the ball were made all night.

Defense still wins championships. It's my belief we're seeing a repetitive cycle in football. Defenses devise schemes to stifle contemporary offenses. In return, offenses evolve to exploit defense scheme's weaknesses. This repeats. Three yards and a cloud of dust (power run), could be called maybe a bulldozer offense. Enter massive DL's to create an immovable object. You've seen offenses become dominant, only to see defenses evolve as well. The single-wing, the wishbone, run and shoot, pistol, and so on. Right now it seems we are in an era of spread, and various flavors of option offenses. Eventually, defense will catch up with this too. In the end, we'll be back to another stop 'em, stomp 'em, and lock 'em up era.

I dunno… the rules favor the offense. Eventually they will change PI to a spot foil like the NFL.

Guys like Muschamp will coach DBs to grab if they feel like they are getting beat. 15 yards is better than 30. He did it at FL. He did at at SC. And he’s doing it at UGA.

A little perspective here - they were on the 30 yd. line with 30 seconds left and only needed a FG to win. That, and Ryan Day's playing-not-to-lose putrid play calling didn't help matters.

12 (14) of TCU's 51 points came from interception returns for touchdowns.

Play Calling and execution wins Championships. Play calling on BOTH sides of the line.
Look NO farther than the Big Blue calls all game long!!
Putting players in a position to perform and be successful! Difference maker in most games IMHO!
Which says Coaching Wins Games!
