Defense wins SEC title or does offense win?

Currently UT reminds me of UF in 1996. UF played Neb for the NC in Jan 96 and got creamed by 40 points. However......UF recovered, built some defense and won a NC at the end of 1996. In the late 90s, offense was the key. When Saban arrived (defensive mind), defenses seemed to point to more victories. Smart is the same. Offensives (see LSU 2 years ago) are staring to win. The point is, our Vols are on the upswing and their strengths (offensive mindset) will match the trend in the near-future SEC (if not now).

Thoughts?

BTW....If we play UGA again in the playoffs, I believe we win (assuming everyone is healthy).

Yeah our defense actually played alright today. Our offense struggled.

Georgia's defense played EXCELLENT.

This is year 2 of Heupel. Let's give our coaches more time to bring in other players and build this program.

I hate that we are going to lose stars like Hendon Hooker, Bryce Young, etc. once this season is over but we have other talent coming in. We do need to up our game in recruiting to compete with Georgia.

If we want to be their level (and Alabama), we need top 5 recruiting classes and not the #14 recruiting class.

People are giving Georgia a lot of credit, and for good reason, but if you ask me, that crowd had a huge effect on the game, false start, after false start, any momentum we got, it was taken by penalties.
Georgias defense is good, but if we play them again, which if you think Tennessee makes the playoffs we will have to if they make the nc game and us too of course. If we play then again, no way we play that bad again, saturday was georgias day, but the next game will be ours.

We will not get to the top level until we get a solid all around defense and not depend on the offense to just out score everyone we play. We've gotten so used to Hooker and the offense winning games for us, then we blame them when we lose.
