Coach Martin's emphasis on defense explains some of his recruiting gets and should pay off next season in a big way. Questions for the peanut gallery...

Over the Pearl tenure who were your favorite guys to watch play defense? I am going with Dane Bradshaw in key moments like end of UF game and Jajuan Smith who got energized when he could press and disrupt.

What Butler type line up do you guys see next year that can defend well and frustrate opponents? Might we play small like Michigan? Do you see a 3 guard line up?

How much are the guys buying in to the work or sit philosophy?

This could be the 5 IMO, hopefully he can make them play D. I think they are all capable.

Hall
Maymon (if no Tobias)
SwiperBoy
Tatum
Jones (or Golden if he doesn't get in)

I think McRae starts with woolridge backing up the 4 or 5. Would hate to use him as a center. But he played minutes either this year or last year where he was productive at grabbing some boards while he was in. He lacks strength down low but should have superior athleticism. Truth be told, he may be an 8-10 ppg scorer for us next season.

So now we are going to the championship game, I see! Expected response.

I must have missed someone saying that. But, if I said something as dumb as you just did, I'd probably try to fabricate something that someone else said as well.

I didn't realize I interrupted a circle jerk, sorry, continue.

Most fans don't appreciate the finer aspects of a defensive game and consider them boring. Since we play 30 or so games, most televised, I would prefer to see some scoring.

I guess you must have just loved the last 2 years of Pearl's tenure. And, this is just a ridiculous argument. I want a style that wins. And, what wins championships is half-court offense and half-court defense.

Oh, its about winning. You suggest we bring in some mid-major defensive oriented recruits and create a defensive style of play that will compete with UK and UF? OK, I see.

I turned off the championship game just after the half, that game was only interesting to the families of the players playing in the game.

It's funny because the teams in the championship game actually did beat, you guessed it, UK and UF.

There you go again comparing UT to Butler Or Uconn, discuss reality not hyperbole. UT loading up on some 3 star defensive players and producing results like the above mentioned teams is nothing less than dreamland. We will not be in the championship game anytime soon playing defensively or offensively for that matter, we don't have the horses. The 3 teams above us in our division have the horses, lets at least play some entertaining basketball.

Yeah the flex and the press never really worked here at UT. They only one more games in 6 years than any other period in UT history. Oh yeah, and they reached the Elite 8 as well.

By your statement, you wouldn't care if we went 0-30 as long as it was entertaining, right?
