Tennessee isn't in the Big 12 we know from experience that offense doesn't even win games in the sec.

The only reason we lost games this year was the defense. Now that gruden is probly not coming (and part of me doesn't want him here anyway now). And ark and AU both have their coachs. I think we have to make a move very soon to keep up with recruiting. Based on what i've heard so far. Imo it is going to come down to hiring an offensive coach (gundy) or a defensive coach (strong).

Tennessee had a coach once that you may have heard of. I think they call him...Neyland? And yes the staduim is named after him.(for the younger fans) He was all about defense. Put the best players on the team on that side of the ball. There was a year that his defense didn't give up a point!

Im not trying to give a history lesson, I'm just saying its time to get back to our roots.
I don't care if its strong, or anybody, but I want a deffensive coach or a very experianced DC
offense wins games, defense wins championships.

Very true; however, for a few years before this past season, we've had a solid defense and a stagnant O. This year it completely flip-flopped. Out of these two coaches, I'd go with Gundy, only if he could bring in a skilled DC that has a good track record.

true, one thing i kinda thought about adding to this thread but didn't was saying if we bring in strong. That we could maby keep chaney, Graham, pittman, and maby henshaw. But like i said the offense wasn't the problem. We would have been the Arky of this year if Da'rick had been here.

The few seasons before this we didn't have a solid D, we had a mediocre D with an even worse O. If we had a SOLID D then we probably would've won a few more games. But yes compared to this past seasons D then yah the Ds the few years before that looked REALLY solid.
But to me a great D is top 10, solid is top 20, good is 21-40, mediocre is 41-60 and the rest is just bad.

Here's a history lesson-

2011
Offense Rank 104th/106th(Total/Scoring)
Defense Rank 28th/36th(Total/Scoring)

2012
Offense Rank 19th/23rd(Total/Scoring)
Defense Rank 109th/104th(Total/Scoring)

Record for both seasons?
5-7
