1. Simplify things for Tobias
2. Keep Goins from getting lit-up/ driven on.
3. Limit the effort Scotty has to give on defense to a certain area, because at the moment he refuses to move out of his 10 foot bubble.

On another note I realize that we have almost/ already recruited ourselves out of a full time pressing team, but with our length on our starting line we should be able to press after made free throws, time outs, and certain baskets. We did it a little last year, and Pitino is trying to transition back to it with his team as well.

Goins is a very capable on ball defender if he wants to be. Granted Walker and Boykin are extremely difficult to stay in front of but something has got to change. 1-3-1?

I've never been a big 1-3-1 fan. I've always preferred 2-3, but with our team 1-3-1 may work best especially with the effort/ speed provided by Fields.

I think Tony Jones needs to don a Bruce Pearl mask while he's doing the interim Head Coaching job and everyone in the house should wear one at home games. If nothing else, it might serve to break the tension on the sidelines and provide some much-needed comic relief. While our coach is on 'vacation', a little Bruce-ification from the staff and fans could go a long way. It might even strike fear into the hearts of the opposition. Hopefully, our players might draw a little inspiration from seeing BP (even thousands of BPs) 'in-da-House'! At this point, a little jocularity certainly couldn't hurt.

He is what he is...an assistant, good grief. He's not a magician who can somehow fix all this team's problems.

i would love it, i've said this since basically my first post this years team for whatever reason is just terrible at man to man, if you pay attention their rotations are terrible, they have no idea how to defend a screen and they ball watch, idk why it seems like every other Pearl team understood the D well but this one just isn't getting it
