Defensive Line positions

Looking at our interior DL depth, we’re pretty solid in the 2-deep at DT with Thomas, Eason, Garland, and Norman-Lott. But until Elijah Simmons returns, there is a drop off after the top 4. Guys like Dominic Bailey (280 lbs), Tyre West (290), and Daevin Hobbs are all listed as SDEs, but are they expected to play inside some too? I’m just worried about having enough guys to rotate in to keep the defense fresh late in games, given how many snaps our defense is required to play.

Also, when is Simmons expected to return? It sounded like he had turned a corner before his injury.

Swain said this is RG best dline since the staff got here so I'm not worried. I trust his opinion

In todays world you only play two true DT’s on obvious run potential downs.
