Not much to "cry" about. I was predicting an upset, and almost got it. Missed opportunity to recover a fumble in the end zone and ended up giving a touchdown. Another quick score, then we rose up and stuffed them for a while. Not much from passing game, but didn't make major mistakes there either. We seemed to take passing game out of our scheme and relied on running since it was working. We overcame ref calls to keep game close. Did not overcome giving up on offsides and allowing their receiver to be wide open for a TD that sealed the game. Second consecutive offsides against same player for that matter. Defensive discipline. You score a season high against their defense, the previous being only 20 points, and take yourself out of the game due to lack of concentration. Proud of the effort, but would have loved to see what would have been if we came out the gates on D the way we played 2nd half right up to the point we shot ourselves. Lost a TD and a long gain for 1st down on offensive penalties as well. Had we executed on some of these plays, it would have actually been a commanding victory and not just an upset. I'm sure Tubberville feels more relieved than victorious. With all our miscues, we still stuck it to them and almost pulled it off. Not bad for one of the youngest teams in the SEC, and what is experienced, is banged up and most not even travelling.

Well said. We absolutely must develope some DBs that can cover. Equally important, we must learn how to tackle. Our tackling skills are terrible. Lots of work on the D between now and next fall must occur in order for us to return to Atlanta.

we gotta quit this trying to strip the ball for ten yards crap, that's part of the problem. It seems like instead of tackling the ballcarrier that we first go for the strip and miss tackles where if we would just tackle the guy we would probably get the 3 and out...

Agree, AND we also seem to like to just put a shoulder pad on the ball carrier. You aren't going to get the Caddies and Hummers on the ground with just a shoulder pad lick. You gotta wrap and drag em down.

I think that our secondary will be really good next year. If Jason Allen decides to stay it could be excellent. We will have Antwan Stewart back. Hefney and Fellows have showed a lot of promise at times. I still think that Corey Campbell could be big. Then there is Parrish, Bouleware and Wade who have all had some good playing time this year. Here is what I tend to overlook. Of the 3 games we lost, we lost 2 to Auburn. The Notre Dame game was not because of our defense, but the QB injury. I think that these young guys have done a pretty good job back there. I don't care how many yards Vandy and UK had on them, we still won. But we do need to learn how to tackle!

I think you're on to something. Put him at slot and let him not only be a reciever, but he can pass and run there as well.

OK, I'm dreaming. With his missing the QB meeting before departure to Atlanta last week and his busting the curfew, he's either gotta mature or maybe we look for him behind center at another school. I hate this idea, he's a talent and can be a boost for us.

Yep, he has some growing up to do. That is for sure. I think that he will come along though.
