The results this week will set the course for the rest of UT's season. Vanderbilt and Florida are both teams you have to beat at home if you want to set yourself up to do damage when it matters. They are both soft teams with significant holes. Vanderbilt is a mid bracket NCAA team and Florida is a bubble quality squad. Anything other than two wins should be a major disappointment to UT.

What do you think will happen in that regard? I'm not confident they will win both games at this point.

I don't see us losing to Vandy and Florida at home, but I think both will beat us on the road.

tennessee should win ,georgia has played well and played kentucky tight at rupp they was due a win and tennessee was due a loss cause shooting under 40 percent in 4 previous games ,but i hate the polls .texas lost 2 in row only dropped 5 spots, and duke lost one game last week and they dropped 1 spot and k state lost at home to oklahoma state which georgia could beat but i gess it will all work out tennessee will win all their home games and win 3 or 4 on the road and a few sec tourney games and go into ncaa tourney with 25 to 27 wins and atleast a 3 seed

Who cares about the polls it's College Basketball. We just need to try and get wins and we will be fine!

Hat's more optimistic than I am. I think they lose a close one vs. Vandy, then pull away from a tight game with Flroida late. Anyone have any update on Chism's availability for tomorrow night's game?

ha, I mentioned no names in my response in the nuke thread. When you make a comment that only has a few horrid things said in it and mentions no names, it is hilarious to watch people point to the wearer of the shoe...

I do find myself agreeing with the OP a good bit at this point. By March we will be able to discuss our disagreements. Well no, actually, I will be able to make a thread talking about hits and misses, and I guess if someone quotes it he may respond. So far I was dead wrong on Arizona, wrong on Florida and right about a whole lot of things that many people on here want to forget they said as they mocked me.

Which things were those?

I guess that I'm just still optimistic. I think we split with Kentucky and maybe split with Vandy. None of the others should really be a problem. I'll still be on edge before each game time because I never know which team will show up. The one that played Kansas or the one that played Georgia. And as I type this, SC is up on Kentucky by 2 points with 7 minutes to go in the game.

KY losing helped us a bit, but I'm with Hat, we need both of these games to start some separation from the rest. That Downey kid can play, but reminds me of AI in his early years. 30 pts/game 33% shooting per game.

Without Downey, South Carolina is sad. When is the last time you saw a 5" 9" player take over a game against the #1 team? He is a money player who makes the shots when they count.

living here in nashville i have been hearing these fans since sunday and they think they have already won the game. I hope they can really win.

btw these are the same fans who got outnumbered by MTSU fans in the SUN BELT SEC classic in nashville.
