Just curious read acouple of articles about auburn fans clamoring for deion. Some saying he is working back channels to be affordable. I find it humorous, because its not us and we are ranked #1 in the country.

We got the best coach in the country I believe. But back to auburn. I don't see a high profile coach going there knowing how their boosters like to meddle. Do you guys and gals think he will go there? By the way VOLS FOR THE WIN!!! GOOD GUYS- 48. DOUCHE BAG PUPS - 31. GBO!

I think the boosters meddling can be said for Tennessee also.

Let's not throw stones at this time as we are not far from our own dumpster fire.

Now that the norm is fully guaranteed contracts plus zero buyout, you wouldn’t need much of an effort to “become” affordable.

I dunno. He's gonna want full control and a neutered alumni group.

You think Mr Yella Wood is gonna go for that? Unless Auburn is ready to ditch their version of Haslem, I think the Tigers pain is just beginning.

Perhaps Derek Dooley is available for them

I've got nothing against Deion but like Harsin he has zero SEC experience and precious little coaching experience at all. If he wasn't Deion and had the same coaching experience, he'd never be mentioned for a job like Auburn.

Would he create a splash? One of the biggest.
Would he recruit well? Almost certainly.
Would he be ready to coach in the SEC? No way.

Folks are saying, "he'll get people like Ed O did at LSU to handle that for him." Ed O is now unemployed for a good reason.

Who in the SEC runs that kind of program where the Coach is a recruiter and "face" and the staff handles the nuts and bolts of winning games? God knows Saban, Smart, and Heupel have some great coaches on staff but do you doubt for one moment that any of them aren't HEAVILY involved in the preparation and scheming of the offense and defense?

Deion isn't prepared yet to be a head coach in the SEC. He just isn't. He may be prepared in the future but hiring him now...... he's 20-6 coaching at the college level, period. He's never been a DB coach, DC, etc. He's 20-6, period, as a college coach.

C'mon, anyone else that green would be unthinkable as an SEC head coach.

Having said that, Just Auburn Being Auburn is a real thing, so nothing that happens there would surprise me.

ESPN claiming the following top candidates
Rhule, Freeze, Kiffin, Stoops, and O'Brien

He needs to move up the coaching ladder like anyone else. You don't go from Jackson State to Auburn. That is just too big of a jump. If I were him, I wouldn't even consider it. I would not want to set myself up for failure like that.

Just thankful that we appear set for the long run with Heupel. Want no part of another coaching search.

Many years ago, there was a guy that went from Samford to Auburn and did well. However, he did come from a coaching pedigree.

Didn't Jim Tressel Come from Youngstown State to Ohio State? He did very well in the big 10. It's not common, but it does happen

Rumor has it that Prime Time Sanders might possibly be taking the Nebraska head coaching job.

Why? He trying to sabotage his own career?

Any coach with half a brain would steer very clear of Nebraska right now. At least until they show they can actually compete in the B10.

Yes, I realize you could have repeated many of the above for UT about two years ago. Simple facts are that Knoxville is one heckuva lot better situated on the football map than Lincoln. Simple fact is they should have never left the B12 way back when. Now, yes of course but they just weren't prepared for the B10 at all.

Only reason I could see Prime going to Nebraska is if they gave him a Jimbo/Mel Tucker kind of deal that they would regret in two years.

No doubt we were a dumpster fire. Auburn is a dumpster fire in a nitroglycerin factory.
