He’s preaching the absolute truth!! He’s not only a Coach to them but a damn fine role model! He seems to treat these guys as if they are his own kids. Need more male role models like him and Coach Heupel that can get through to these guys!!

Saw him in an interview recently. Prime really seems legit as a person. THey talked about his health with his leg and all, coaching at JSU, other opportunities if they come knocking, and so on. I forget the exact question or full answer but it had to do with the NFL and some of the things that have gone on. And he is a big supporter of the NFL itself as an organization. His comment was to the effect of why would he not support something that gave him his life. He says in other interviews his lifestyle will not change regardless of what kind of offer he may get. Says it would affect his coaches but not him. So, entertaining an offer has to be about the kids and certain things being in place cause he don't need the money.

I watched an interview with him where he talked about wanting to kill himself. Until then, I'd only seen him as "primetime", not Dion the man. I had never heard him talking, other than football related, and I believe he is a legit good person, and example for his kids. I believe he can relate to them, and be a good influence. Idk, your post reminded me of that interview, and I responded 🤣

Jax St to Auburn is a HUGE step. SEC is 1step below NFL. Nothing else in college is close. I think Ga Tech would be a good step to bigger situation.

I really respect what Coach Prime is doing and the difference he is trying to make in young mens lives. It comes with self promotion yes, but it works for him and his mission.

I don't know if it is self promotion. I think he uses that spark to educate and say hey you can be more. That is the message I take from Primetime. I love the fact that he flat out told his team you won't be leaving the hotel. He is protecting his young men while also teaching them to be a better version of human beings. The world, could truly use more people like Prime. I simply respect the fact he uses his name as a platform to open eyes.... I believe that is his true mission along with teaching young men to be successful.

My all time favorite athlete!

He’s waiting on the FSU job. Got a feeling Norvell is going to Arizona St and Prime is going home……..

That is what I was getting at. He does a lot of self promotion, but most of it is to benefit the cause and is meeting his mission. He has to promote himself and his program to get people to invest in the program. The self promotion is not a bad thing. After all, Deion Sanders is and always has been a brand. He has put his brand to good work for great causes with Jackson State, HBCUs, and young men that were not given the opportunities others were given. I love what he is doing. On the flip side, his career will benefit from all he has done at Jackson State and he has made headlines. Other programs notice what he is doing because he is winning, making a difference in young mens lives, and it doesn't hurt that he is out there front and center for all to see on College Gameday, AFLAC commercials, 60 minutes, social media, etc. From the time that he arrived on campus with a police escort to the press conference to now, he has brought positive attention to Jackson State. He has had a plan and I admire the work he's done. It should be a case study some day on how to turn around an underfunded forgotten program.

In one of his interviews he said he has been coaching youth football for 15 years, and is only new to college coaching. Taking teams around the country, etc. Was on the way to his HOF induction ceremony, loaded up buses and stopped and played 3 youth games on the way. On the way to HIS Hall of Fame induction he took his teams and stopped to play 3 football games. Who does that ?? He may self-promote to get his message out, but he is self-less it appears. And he scoffed at the idea when pro scouts said one year recently there were only 6 NFL draftable players in HBCU's. He said if they only saw 6 NFL players in the HBCU's then they are pretty lazy at their jobs.
