The recent schenagans involving SEC schools turning in each other for violations: MSU and Florida turning in Aubarn over the Cam Newton deal, along with the rumor on TOS that Arkansas also turned in the same school over the recruitment of Michael Dyer, brings back memories of similar reprisals by rival schools in the now defunct SWC.......Turned out badly in the long run.

The difference is that was the only premier team in the SWC getting killed. The SEC can survive Auburn's execution, and I don't think it's going to be death penalty bad.

I've heard rumors of dirty recruiting by Auburn all the way back into the 80's. Apparently they're pretty good at it since they've yet to get caught.

Yes they have, In the early 90's they got caught and were on probation and had an undefeated year but did not get to play a bowl game....Year was 1993

Would it be irony if a team getting ruled ineligible for recruiting violations allowed former SWC member TCU to play for a title?

Mississippi State turned in Cecil Newton, not Auburn, in December of 09' before he even signed with them.
