Ted Kennedy came hard at Carter in 1980 and we know how that worked out for Carter. It went all the way to the convention.

I remember hearing about that. But it would be kind of funny to see a president running for re-election not even win their party nomination. It's bound to happen sometime I guess.

depends on the 2010 mid-term, if the Democrats suffer a defeat similar to that of 1994, then Obama could well face a primary challenge.

I'd say if he's at 40 or lower, then HC or some other name might take a run at him.

If the midterms go bad and HC resigns from SoS; it's on. Otherwise, the competition will be no namers trying to build some national recognition for the 2016 run.
