YIKES!!!! Did anyone watch any of this? 15 minutes of it and I had to turn it off purely out of fear. What I did see:

They are all for basically doing away with for profit insurance.

This was mainly a black audience. If I were a black person I would find the tone of this thing incredibly demeaning. It was a festival of clowns telling the black audience how they could not protect themselves from AIDS and how the government needed to step in and fix everything.

Really scary stuff.

More points from this forum:

Universal health care
Universal education for pre-kindergarten
Universal college education
Universal breakfast

Also,
Apparently all this could be paid for if The Iraq War was done away with

But also,
We need to put security forces in Darfur. Obviously American solidiers would be killed in Darfur but this is not bad like it is when they get killed in Iraq.

And,
Whenever one of the candidates made a point it was required that the NPT camera operator move to Al Sharpton in the audience to see whether or not he was shaking his head in approval.

Its called educate yourself and get out the damn ghetto. They choose to be a statistic and the government lets them believe they are. This even applies to whites and all other races. If you want to be someone get off of your butt and work for it, plain and simple. As far as the Anti-Free Market left, they love the free market that made them rich but curse it because the people that vote for them can't hack it in the real world. They need big brother government to step in and take care of their 6 kids and give them free health care because they made POOR life decisions and the American people pay for those mistakes and not them. This is why I will NEVER vote Democrat until someone reclaims that party for what it once was. The Dems used to be pro-war and more conservative than the Republicans used to be. That all changed during the Kennedy Administration though.

I'm assuming this board is majority republican?

Funny Story: I work at a hardware store that's been around since 1940. Most of the people that shop there have been coming there since they were children. Anyways, we remodeled the store January 2006. I can mostly tell who the uber-conservative republican customers are because they say, "You all changed the store around, now I can't find anything!" But it was for the better, there's more stuff and the store is very well organized. Funny stuff, all but 3 employees and the two owners are democrats, while the customer base is largely republican. Fun stuff.

Moral of the story? Don't fear change, embrace it.

Does you store charge different prices for items based on the wealth of each customer?

 So the people are supposed to change because others tell them too right?? That's wonderful logic right there. :good!:

I never said they were supposed to change. They just had to consider it. Adaptation is a part of life.

Politics is much like life. New issues arise, they may affect you or they may not.

I'm all for send troups to Darfur and helping out the people that actually need the help.

Contrary to what was stated before, I think the Democrats have 2 1/2 strong Presidential candidates. Clinton and Obama are both very viable candidates and Edwards is the 1/2. Mainly because of what 123 subtly pointed out, he's not that smart.

The country doesn't NEED change, it needs to improve on what we already have instead of adopting new legislation for every new issue there may come about.

I hear ya but there are plenty of "changes" suggested by republicans (privatizing part of social security for example) that are feared and would never be embraced by Democrats.

Why won't they just give change a big hug and we can fix Social Security :)
