She is as much the spokesperson for the Democratic party as David Duke is for the Republicans.

Duke is currently in the US House of Reps and able to vote on legislation affecting all Americans?

Irrelevant to my point. No one of any significance within the Democratic party takes direction or advice from her, just as no one in the Republican party looks to Duke for leadership.

That doesn't mean she represents or speaks for the Democratic party, which is what the thread/original post suggested.

Much of the current democrat agenda does indeed look to be socialist, how is this incorrect?

i think it's safe to say she has far more power than david duke. she is also on the house finance committie which is very prestigious. pretty scary actually.

That was not the insinuation of original post. It suggested that whatever Maxine Waters says is somehow officially representative of the Democratic party, which is flatly untrue.

Still irrelevant. Just because she is in Congress or is on a certain committee does not in any sense mean that what she says is attirbutable to the party as a whole or to other particular members.

That she is more powerful than Duke does not mean that she is AS powerful as suggested by the original post.

how did she get on those committees? Surely the Dem leadership sees some value in having her rep their party in the meetings. Now if Duke was on the race relations committee....

if her views were dramatically different from the democratic party i very much doubt she'd have the power she currently has.

Very funny considering your past assertions that Rush, Hannity and the like represented the republican party.

Rush and Hannity have infinitely more influence over Republican policy and philosophy than Waters does over Democratic policy and philosophy. Not even close.

Waters doesn't need to "influence" the democrat party. She represents the party, especially the Congressional Black Caucus, to a (wo)man, that entire group is Marxist.

in other words, Waters is the rule, not the exception.

you are honestly arguing that a radio host has "infinitely" more influence than an actual elected congresswoman who sits on some of the most influencial committies in congress? :lolabove:

Rush and Hannity may have more influence over the general public, but they don't cast votes as Waters does. They are talking heads, she has the ears of those that matter not the general public.

What is she saying that is not consistent with the actions of the Democratic Party? Have you been under a rock the past 6 months?

then thank God for Rush and Hannity being able to put a stop to the socialization of the US healthcare system.

If not for their efforts, the stimulus bill would have passed and it's commensurate tax increases would be harming job growth. Without them, the omnibus spending package would have contained thousands of pork barrell earmarks...

oh...wait...
