Surely you can see the misrepresentation in that story, rjd.

farm subsidies are a weakness of both parties. The article says more about Glen Thrush, who apparently didn't bother to seek a statement from Bachmann, than it does about her.

All I see is a Repub that harps about socialism, while at the same time receiving $25K/year in federal subsidies for 10 years to run a family farm....of which during that time her yearly income from said farm increased from $2000/year to $50,000/year.

No?

It says her father-in-law ran the farm and accepted these subsidies. It was only after his death that the "lady teabagger" began to make any considerable profit from the farm, and there is no mention about the acceptance of any subsidies following her father-in-laws death.

Sounds like the kind of hacking that folks try to accuse Glenn Beck of, only this one is so full of holes you could strain pea soup through it.

Baloney.

These types of "socialist" subsidies fit in with the dem agenda for the most part but it is completely against the repub agenda (so we are told to believe). Let's call it what it is, hypocrisy.

The outspoken Bachmann is anti-socialist, yet she is more than willing to receive federal subsidies for her farm?

Huh? She has a quarter million dollar stake in the farm. And something tells me she wasn't out in front of her father-in-law's house "teabagging" his socialist handout.

The story does not prove that she "received" any such thing. The only subsidies received were received by her father-in-law, who was running the farm.

However, I will agree with your general premise. Yes, most Republicans are hypocrites, too. Of course, most politicians are crooked, so no surprise there.

again, you don't have Bachmann's side of the story, do you? No, you don't. Thrush got his information from a left-wing site and nowhere in his "article" does he mention any effort to corroborate and seek a statement from Bachmann.

But you'll protest the principle all day?

yes. it's called being practical. the govt is screwing you 24/7. anytime you can get anything back is a miracle. i don't agree with the child tax credit, but if i have a kid i'm certainly going to claim it. to do otherwise is stupidity.

Since when do we need both sides of the story around here?
