I must say, I have given the guy crap about the way he carries himself after a race but he showed a lot of class yesterday. It can't be any fun losing a race like that and he carried himself well in the post race interviews.

i really figured denny would give him a bump on the cool down lap and then whine about it after the race, but he took his schooling like a man.. i wish they wouldve had one more caution to see what would have happened on the restart

I don't care a thing in the world about Hamlin, but that move he put on Johnson on the restart where he took the lead was sweet.

It was possible only because his team mate Kyle Busch held back to leave the inside lane open. Not taking anything away from Hamlin as it was a neat pass, but if Busch restarted next to Johnson as is normal practice, there would not have been any room for the move.

in Kyle's defense, he did the exact same thing on the next restart as well, when it was his teammate in the lead and Johnson 2nd.

You are correct, however, on the next restart he stayed even with Johnson.

Eh, anyone can drive it deep down into the turn, wash up the track, and take the guy in front with them.

Nice job by both of them not to spin completely out, though.

Jimmy just doesn't give up wins. He's either #1 or not in the picture. It doesn't seem like he gets many top 5s without winning. Guess he just has that killer instinct

Hate to cloud the issue with facts, but........

Jimmie Johnson career stats:

Starts Wins Top5 Top10
262 41 104 161

This ranks #2 in average finish position - 11.7

did anyone see DW address this on Sunday. I have to agree w/ DW on this subject. He said the drivers don't have as much emotion as they did back in the day. He used Denny's post race interview as an example compared to ones in the past. I like the passion and guys beating and banging for the win and not just saying well he made a nice pass.

It's not as much about wins anymore as it is pleasing people and keeping sponsors happy. That's my opinion anyway.
