What do you all think of Nascar fining Hamlin for criticizing the gen 6 car? I really didn't think his comments were that bad and don't blame him for being upset about the fine.

Dumb fine IMO. Seems like Nascar is ok with the drivers speaking their mind as long as it's not about Nascar.

Where do you work? If it's for a corporation then go ahead and start making disparaging remarks about said business. Getting fined would be the best thing that would happen to you.

NASCAR can fine him if they choose no matter how ridiculous or petty it may seem to all of us.

His comment wasn't about the business. It was about the car and how he doesn't like the car. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying you don't like an aspect of something.

If I remember correctly, and maybe I'm not, but there were drivers that complained about the COT and I don't remember if any of them got fined.

If Hamlin had said something about the was Nascar was running the circuit or something to that effect then I would agree with a fine.

I mean the car is what NASCAR has mandated everyone drive. An attack on the car is an attack on NASCAR is what I believe their reasoning behind fining him is.

If that's the angle they are taking I think I could understand it a little better but I still feel like it's Nascar just trying to levy a fine for a petty reason. Kind of nit picky to me.

I stopped watching Nascar about 2 years ago. It has turned into a pathetic sport, imo.
FTW. I watched and attended Nascar races since the 1970's. At one time it was a great sport.

They used to do secret fining so no one heard about them in the past. They decided to make it public this year when a driver got fined. I'm sure Kyle Busch was fined when he said the COT sucked, which it did.

I still think it was a bs fine for Hamlin because he basically said there was work left to do to make the car better because you can't pass in it.

NASCAR brass is getting about as bad as Roger Goodell. I agree with Hamlin. Refuse go pay the fine.

Earnhardt used to complain about decisions made by Nascar without any problems. I guess it depends on who you are. Hamlin should do like Rusty did and pay the fine in pennies.
