The NFL trend away from retreads and toward assistants is amazing to watch. The guys getting jobs now don't even necessarily have coordinator experience.

Considering Shanahan was evidently axed because he refused to fire a coach, it sounds like the organization takes a big role in staff decisions. I heard they were going to keep Bates so Josh McDaniels may have to keep him.

I hope this was the right choice for my Broncos, I was kind of leaning toward the NY Giants DC (forgot his name). We DESPERATELY need help on defense!
