Red-District DOGE Protests, Cited As Proof of Broad Musk 'Backlash,' Were Organized By Left-Wing Groups

In one case, a former Dem county board candidate and self-described 'political activist' helped organize a viral demonstration in Georgia

When angry voters confronted Rep. Rich McCormick over DOGE at a town hall held in the Georgia Republican's deep-red district, the New York Times, Washington Post, and CBS News cited the scene as proof of emerging bipartisan "backlash" over Elon Musk's efforts to slash government spending. CBS included a quote from one of the protest's organizers, Maggie Goldman, describing her only as a McCormick constituent.

Goldman does live in McCormick's district, though she's far from a concerned supporter of the two-term Republican. A self-described "Democrat & Political Activist," Goldman, who did not respond to a request for comment, coordinated volunteers for Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign in 2019 and 2020, according to her LinkedIn. Shortly thereafter, she ran for her local county commission as a Democrat seeking to enact a "more inclusive policy agenda." Goldman has donated exclusively to Democrats and sent Kamala Harris's campaign more than $1,500 last year, according to campaign finance records. On her Facebook page, she boasted of the national media attention the McCormick protest received, sharing screenshots of headlines alongside the caption, "We really were on 🔥🔥."

Nobody was worried like we have seen in 4 week, all of sudden everyone works in HR or accounting for the government. You got guys in this thread telling these people how to run things and they couldn't even figure out it was simple bait. 😂

It is because this forum (like nearly every other), has the two political camps and the posters defend their camp. People post they are moderates all the time nut, 99% of the time, they are in a camp and sometimes defend their side more ridiculously than even the politicians that represent them.

Most of the people running things are liberals, and I'm not liberal and I think its pretty great for the most part. You have people that have been weaponized, I would say its pretty clear.

I had this guy that knew everything the other night complaining about elon's email request, I'm like its just bait. They are all over there thinking about how bad it was.... I'm like they are just trying to find the nuts like you.... and it seems pretty freaking effective. 😂

Seriously? If there is any subject matter where there should be bipartisan agreement, it's that the US Postal Service sucks.
I tend to agree, but wouldn't necessarily label it as "sucked". I've been lucky to have lived at just few residents over my lifetime. In the those places, I've never experienced poor service. I've had some friendly acquaintances with mail carriers. They've all done a fantastic job. Reliable and on-time. Again, I am lucky. That being said, it's been too much of a money pit. Would like to see a detailed audit done on the USPS. I'm wondering if funds have been diverted to other agencies. Just a thought

They want to continue to lose mail route halfway around the country before delivery.

We know a good portion of the USPS workers within about 30 miles of us, rural. They're all good people and do a good job, but man... once it gets outside of the local area it just disappears. They tell us how some of the centralized sites in the city are just stacked and nobody knows what to do with it... mail and packages just sit there. It probably needs to go away.

I'll say it again, the people and the service at our local are/is super. Beyond that...

A lot of its status as a "money pit" is due to Republicans making them pre-fund 75 years of pensions
