Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

He rescinded their invitation in order to punish their speech. IDK how this is so confusing to you. It doesn't matter if it's a right or a privilege, or however you want to argue this semantically, it still goes against the ideal of a free press. He punished the press for their speech by taking away a privilege.
Are they not still free to write whatever they want?

Idk what counts as "concerning" to you but she said she had been trying to reach him for several days and he hadn't responded, and that he's barely seen his kid or tried to. So he unfollowed her and started slandering her instead.

These are also pretty weird

Maybe you’d feel better if Musk transitioned and they claimed the child identifies as furry….and they posted a picture of it laying in a litter box. That’s less weird ….. right?

Apparently freedom of the press only counts when we make it easy for them. I mean, you know... History of the press's transforming power has been defined by its ability to only speak "truth" to power when we make it incredibly convenient and painless for them to do so.

I have seen this posted several times today. Can one of the board's many math geniuses explain it to me?

If spending goes up by 300B a year for 10 years, is that not 3 trillion? How is it suddenly 20 trillion?

Annual operating deficit of 1.7T already. 1.7 * 10 years = 17 trillion.

Add that to spending and that gets you near 20T..

They're saying the deficit was already $1.7 trillion per year. Extending the tax cuts adds $0.3 trillion to that number, so $2.0 trillion per year. Multiply by 10 years to get $20 trillion.

You’re so fake. Presented yourself as some kind of military “expert,” and now you make it vivid that you are just a party hack.

You don’t give a damn about budget deficits. You wage war on any and every expenditure cut, as if your pay depends on it.

Everyone sees through you.

Outted as a stone cold leftist.

Thanks for the replies.

So, this guy is okay with 1.7 trillion in deficits a year but 2T is just too much? Give me a f'ing break!

If we got rid of the tax cuts, we would only go into debt by 1.4T a year. Is this really what these idiots are fighting about? If so, they all should be voted out. They all should be working on ways to cut spending by producing a balanced budget based on last year's actual revenue. Congress-do your ********* job!!!!

Ill bet he's just like Rand Paul and has voted for nearly every R spending increase along the way....

This is a vast oversimplification of what was cut, and he walked back the termination process already today. I already said this guy is apparently a moron and he's proven it to be true.

Part of the "powerpoint slides" and "notetaking" that got cut included the contract support for the contract management system, IT support for supply chain systems, the contractors backing the suicide help desk and remote care lines, and oversight/acquisition support (read: legal and metrics tracking) for major supplies contracts. Prime vendor contracts for supplies and equipment are also supposedly being targeted, which leaves the facilities with no legal options for buying supplies. Other things include the IT/warehouse modernization work that's in process aimed at putting in things like RFID supplies tracking to help bring the VA out of 1975, which was shut down overnight and would likely save the VA billions a year in wasted/expired supplies. This is on top of the purchase card pause I noted yesterday, meaning there are facilities that literally cannot access the procurement tools they need to get supplies.

Again, there is waste and abuse in the VA. Wholesale cutting 800+ contracts because an algorithm says the contract wording doesn't match the mission is not the way to do it in a place that's critical for part of our population.
