Derek Barnett punched Anthony Richardson

Why is this a story? It's never been wrong to try to punch a ball out. Totally different than taking a swing at a player

Yes, I get the college dynamics too. Also get that it's normal for players to protect their qb at all times

These shared practices are ********. A lot of them end in brawls. Barnett trying to punch the ball out is exactly what will happen in a game. It’s better to learn at practice than in mid September but players today don’t see it like that. They want to “pro bowl” practice & that’s not the purpose.

It's always wrong to touch the QB at all during practice.

You realize they're on different teams, right? They ain't out there playing 2 hand touch; they're trying to earn the spot on their team. You think Aaron Rodgers won't get hit in the last preseason game?

besides, even in 2 hand touch you could try to knock the ball out

Lol. It wasn't a preseason game. It was a joint practice. Which is no different than a regular practice in terms of basic common sense etiquette.

You're right, they aren't playing two hand touch with the QB. They are playing "Don't touch that guy at all". Same as they have been doing in every practice since they were in junior high.
