Would be a great move by Dooley. At FAU, they really have nothing to lose, I guess. If you think about it from Dooley's perspective, it would be a real second chance and if he could make them mediocre, he looks good. If he doesn't, then it'll always be because it was FAU.
From their perspective, they've probably had worse than a guy whose ceiling in the SEC was 6-6. Not saying that he's a good hire anywhere necessarily but I could see it being mutually beneficial if all you wanted was to win half your games and weren't expecting to be like Boise State. Also, the realistic candidates for this job aren't exactly world beaters.
