Derek Mason to return to Vandy in 2020

I doubt many up and coming coaches are willing to roll the dice on Candy. I think the AD knows this. He got lucky with James Franklin and knows it's unrealistic to expect the program to get back to that level.

That AD you speak of is deceased . Their new man just hired a new basketball coach so I was sure he would not dump Mason as well.

Butch and Arky: Nope
Butch and Rutgers: Nope
Butch and Vandy: Nope

Surely there’s someone at the University that has the ability to look over the agreement and start the process of no longer paying Jones.

3 plates of Bacon and Sausage: not those sissy plates that only have 3 fatty pieces.

Plate of Eggs of medium: salt, pepper, and HS

Endless pancakes: bacon butter and syrup.
Just Ron Swanson it:
RS I want all your bacon and eggs...wait wait wait, i think what you heard me say was bring me a lot of bacon and eggs. But what I really said was 'all of your bacon and eggs'

If Vandy starts firing coaches who have a record of beating UT I will be very surprised, actually should get a 4 year extension every time they win this game. Same goes for the coaching staff at UT, lose this game walk out the door and keep going, don't look back.

I think Tennessee will beat Vanderbilt in two weeks and will beat them again in 2020 in Nashville and Derek Mason will finally be shown the door in December 2020.

Also yeah Mason has beaten UT, but he also has yet to win a bowl or end with a winning record. And this being his 6th season and he's about to be 3-9 just like his first season and this season they got boatraced at home by a 2-8 UNLV, the future doesn't exactly look bright. It's pretty obvious to me he peaked at 6-7.

Quite frankly, what did you expect? He was a very successful coordinator at Stanford and that is generally what Vanderbilt has to hire, coordinators. I highly doubt a bigger named coordinator or successful coach is going to take that job. It is far too difficult to win there on a consistent basis. The best you can hope for is a competitive team here and there.
