There's a game called Detective Pikachu. That is what the movie is based off of.

Pokemon was probably the biggest part of my childhood. I'm definitely going to watch.

Kinda surprised how quiet this thread has been considering the movie is 3 weeks away from release. From the trailers that have been shown, it looks like this could be one of the better live action video game/anime movies.

my youngest daughter saw the trailer the other day when we went to the moives, she's 8, and she literally freaked out. i had to calm her down....lol.

i've nver gotten the pokemon deal, but whatever....i'm not 8. but i'll take her to see it.

Just watched the movie. I had a lot of fun watching detective pikachu. The world building and Pokémon designs were great. Definitely some things they could have done better, particularly in the story and some of the human characters. I’d give this a 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed it too. The world building and pokemon designs were what made it for me The story wasn't anything to write home about at all but I kept looking at every scene to take the world in.
