I think Dez will fight in just nicely and Roy is a clown, but Bryant better hope this doesn't tick off a lot of players on the team.

Bryant has been a workaholic since being drafted. The guy has done nothing but impress. Including impressing Roy Williams.

Said Williams, via the Dallas Morning News:

"The dude is scary. The dude is good and he doesn't even know it yet. Once the light bulb goes on he will probably be the best in the league.

Williams has underwhelmed in his two Dallas seasons since the Cowboys traded a package of picks to the Lions to acquire him. He's caught just 57 passes in Dallas.

So Williams acknowledged that he has to beat out Bryant to retain a prominent role in the Cowboys' offense:

"I've been working really hard this off-season. Obviously, something I've been doing these past two years hasn't been working so I took it another step further and it's working pretty good this year.

"I hope it can translate on the field. But if it doesn't, No. 88 is going to be right there. He's that good. He's going to be right there regardless. I've got to stay on my game.''

this honestly seems more along the lines of Bryant doesn't want to have to deal with all the "rookie-hazing" that the rest of the rookies on the team have to go through and do (and that the team's rookies probably usually have to go through and do each year)

I hope they think up a really good "punishment" for the geek. Being duct taped to the goal posts is so been done.

Dez is gonna get it worse if he refuses the hazing. Of course it's nice to see that the kid is all business.

I would refuse to carry Roy Williams shoulder pads too. Dude is one of the biggest wastes of space in the NFL, what a clown.

Why is it always the douche bags that want to haze someone?

Hazing in any form is about the most incredibly idiotic thing that can be done.

If you want to teach a rookie a lesson and give that rah-rah "Welcome to the NFL" bullplop, do it during the course of a normal play during a training camp scrimmage. But promoting a veterans vs rookies mentality, while also (in several cases) engaging in assault and battery and calling it "initiation" is exactly why so many outsiders are convinced that anyone involved with football is the northbound end of a southbound Brontosaurus.

Besides, if you're going to be an idiot and call it initiation, why not just follow the rules of the prison shower? New guys get on their knees or on all fours...nothing brings two men closer together and really forces a sense of humility and subservience like pulling a train.

Every analyst or person with a clue is raving about his skillset and raw talent and you put him off as an arena league player...you're clueless.

Nice comeback.

Wonder if deep down he actually believes the 'Boys would release him over something like this?

Then he's even more clueless than I originally thought considering his contract guarantee's him like 8mil.

Dez Bryant will probably have more catches than anyone the Cowgirls have, meanwhile, Roy Williams will still suck.
