Wow. That's a really, really tough call.

In terms of success, you've got to go LeBeau. Kiffin, however, revolutionized coverage with the Tampa 2.

I really can't pick.

I think LeBeau has been more consistent. Especially at stopping the run. I can't pretend that there is too much seperation though.

I think LeBeau edges him out just slightly, but I thought it might be a halfway interesting discussion.

Rings are what separates them I guess.

Monte had a hell of a run but his defenses always struggled against a smashmouth run games.

LeBeau only gets burnt when he gets a little too aggressive with his blitzes.

Zone blitzing is much more revolutionary than the Tampa 2.

But they all zone blitz. Bottom line, all NFL coordinators are good when they're loaded with talent.

That's the point.

LeBeau was one of the first to perfect it. Very few zone-blitzed with the regularity that he did. Now everyone does it.

FTR, not a Monte fan but like LeBeau because of the differences in their aggression.

LeBeau's Ds have damn near masked that Polamalu is a glorified blitzing linebacker and couldn't cover Stocker because he forces QBs into hurries all night long.
