maybe someone can explain it to me, how do some states, ex. calif., tx, etc have a buttload of points, but other states like wyoming, etc have very few?

Even McCain's home state of Arizona is leaning Obama. That's embaressing, but they know him better then most as their senator for 20 odd years.

Whichever state has more sports teams that win playoff and championship games gets more points. Tennessee has had the Titans for only a couple of years, which is why they're kinda low.

I think it's a huge mistake to assume this seismic shift is about the actual candidates.

The old adage, "it's the economy, stupid" is ringing true as it generally does.

do minor league teams count? i figure the Tennessee Valley Vipers are worth at least a million points.

It is worth mentioning that these polls have been averaging around four points inaccurate the last two elections. That being said, Obama will have to have a meltdown-type moment to lose this, as things are right now.

Morris did caveat the whole mess by saying that the economic crunch has driven this whole Obama rise and that any righting of that ship over the next 18 days could make a material difference.

In fact, he said he expects this thing to make 2 or 3 more turns.

yeah, he's going to win this. i'm thinking about cashing in my 401k because i'll have none left once he starts passing his tax increases.

Um, the composite averages have been almost perfect the last two elections. Still, I have no idea which polls Morris is using for his electoral map b/c nothing out there looks remotely like this. He's throwing darts.

Unless you are four to six years from retirement, and/or plan on immediately converting it into hard manufactured goods like weapons and tools to help you carve out an existence in the post-apocalypse, that'd be silly. But what do I know?

I can't wait to watch the economy recover in the next 18 days. Morris is losing it.

recovery is not what he's talking about. He's talking about less sensationalism and huge stories about giant market swings and enormous company failures.

you think he'll start taxing savings?

when he starts raising taxes on businesses, that will be less money they'll be able to pay into 401k and ira's. the stock market will keep on struggling. might as well spend it and enjoy it some before it's all gone.

when/if hussein is elected, you'll see the biggest change in the attitude toward the economy. the press will suddenly talk about the positives with the economy and they'll forget to say anything bad.

so for the next for years, there will be a rosie picture painted for the economy.

A penny saved is a penny you can irrationally blow during a market correction. Doesn't really have a ring to it.
