Why do you say that about Booker? Seems like something?

Sorry just a prediction. He hasn’t played in weeks correct? Even in some blowouts. Seems like a lot of guys are in front of him for PT. Moore, Burke, Scott, Steenstra, Chambers. And this allows Stephenson a clear path which he needs imo. He’s a game changer.

This is coming from someone who LOVES Jared Dickey. Love the way he swings the bat. Love his approach.

But this really won’t hurt Tennessee. Not because Dickey isn’t really good…he is. But because this team is just so deep.

Same. The kid is awesome. Just rest up, get healthy, be a great teammate, and if it is season-ending, know that next year we will need him as a leader.

I doubt Booker is seeing the field. More time for Taylor midweek at catcher. Stephenson permanently to LF. Moore and Burke taking over DH role is my prediction. Scott maybe sprinkled in.

This is puzzling to me because I saw very good skills from Booker in limited action last year. Obviously, I didn't know yet what Stephenson and Dickey were going to bring, but I figured Booker was penciled in this year n LF.

Losing Jared hurts the depth at C, Charlie will see more action, injuries are part of the game and I hope he makes a full recovery. I firmly feel like Jared brought something special to this team. Such as plate presence that is second to none. I think Seth brings some of that as well but from the left side, Jared just seemed to fit that role. I think Chamber's gets a nod now and based on moves by TV, Scott will also get some late action. Not sure about Booker, not sure what's going on there.

I think Scott and Stephenson have proven their ability in field but I think Stephenson gets the nod because of the difference in batting average, .383 to .206. I think Burke and Moore have proven their ability to hit the ball, .385 and .389. Booker and Chambers are struggling so at the plate right now, .200 and .125. I think it will be Stephenson in LF and the DH will swap back and forth as it has been.

That would seem to me to be the path going forward, too. Coach V did say something about Scott swinging it pretty good lately, so that was confusing to me.

He was and got passed late in camp. If I recall, Tony said it was less than 48 hours before the first game when the decision to go a different direction was made. Who knows maybe even the staff didn't know what they were bringing in? Virtually every freshman we have seems to be better than they were graded out and that includes Burns. He was awfully high on the prospect list but there is no true freshman pitcher in the country doing what he is doing.

I thought Booker was banged up, causing him to not get any time recently.

If it’s a dislocated patella then he could be back sometime between Georgia and Hoover.
There is a difference between patella and patellar. I’m not sure specifically what structure is involved, but that could make a big difference.

Well yeah if it’s a patellar tendon injury then that’s definitely season ending. Several months before he’s returning to sport. Could be 6-12 months if that’s the case. But we are just left to speculate since they haven’t released anything. I was just saying that if it’s a dislocation that would be best case scenario.

Yeah, the only thing I know for sure is that Vitello said, “they said it’s a patellar something something injury. I’m not sure what the medical term is.” With those words, I was afraid it was a tendon issue. I hope not.
