I have rewatched it a few times. Pay attention to his body language and his demeanor. Usually, even in a loss he is somewhat upbeat and answers questions in his usual manner. Not after the UF game. He was completely different. Reminded me exactly like he acted last year after the South Carolina game. Maybe there are some locker room issues that we don’t know about. Just a thought.

Well we looked like a completely different team against Vandy and Clemson, so maybe not a bad thing! I’m sure he’s still very pissed, as he should be.

He just got embarrassed on national TV by a average Florida team coached by Napier in a huge East game...I'd be pissed to....at my team and myself for questionable coaching....game planning....development and fielding a total undisciplined team...There was nothing good about what I saw Saturday night.

Heupel is smart enough to know what that game means and he's got more issues to fix than he thought. He's got some coaches to fix too IMO.

JMO....But thank gosh that most likey UTSA will be without their starting QB for 2 weeks in a row. That kid could eat our defense alive.

It was probably the most painful loss of his tenure here, other than maybe SC. I wouldn’t read too much into it

He keeps talking about margin of error being really small btw winning and losing. That sounds like something you say when your team isn’t that talented or deep, which I thought we were. Maybe we were all wrong

He's got some choices to make. Now isn't the time to be Mr. Nice Guy. He's got to keep Martinez until the end of the year, but that choice should be obvious to send him packing. With Banks, doubt is probably creeping in.

Personnel decisions, you got to start getting some of the younger guys ready. I hope we can get some space on UTSA to get some of the younger DBs and OL some playing time. What we have there now is not cutting it. No reason in year three should you have guys like Hadden starting. Time to get one of the young guys in there to take his spot. If there are cancers on the team, get rid of them.

Im not sure why he has to keep him until the end of the year. Richt fired him mid season and he was the DC not a position coach. Heupel loves to promote analysts and GAs. Let one of them coach DBs the rest of the way. It can’t go any worse.

I agree that is exactly what he’s saying if you read between the lines. The adjectives he uses to describe the potential of this team are toned down versus last year’s as well. I believe I even caught him correcting himself changing a “great” to “good” (or something along those lines) in the Monday press conference.

Huepel is a competitor. He looked pissed and like he didn't want to be there answering questions about the game. I'm sure he was pissed specifically with the refs and with how he handled the very last sequence of the game. Calling a timeout is something you do as a sore loser. But the best winners are sore losers, so I don't mind it.

He also seemed to be chewing his gum with some agression. Maybe its a way to calm his nerves as I heard recently somewhere he likes to chew big red gum before every game. (Though I can't remember where I heard that from or the context of it). So I think he just wanted to get the presser over so he could gather himself emotionally. Other than that, I don't take anything more out if it.

Going on?

You mean like the past 30 years against Florida haha.?

Yeah, Florida owns us. Just like we own Kentucky.

How anyone could deny that at this point is beyond me.

Thats the thing most people struggle with when they are "the boss". But you're 100% right. When you're getting paid the big bucks you're expected to make the tough decisions, peoples feelings be damned.

Imo, I think something is definitely going on behind the scenes.

This team has not looked anywhere near focused since the AUP game which is unusual for a Heupel coached team,

It’s probably a combination of a things like NIL, behavior issues, sports betting, too many factors now.

As bad as we played in FL, I almost would rather see our team struggle against their QB. Struggles bring character at times; it separates the men from boys.

It's true. But stats are stats and eventually... nope, it never changed. Thank the Lord for TX & OU coming to get us outta this. Seemed like Michigan had this kinda thing over OSU for 10-15 years, but it ended. Ours will NOT.

I watched it as well. I’ll leave it to others to diagnose but he was certainly different. Seemed uncomfortable, dejected, lost for words…like he was talking to the dentist just before a root canal. Seemed way out of his comfort zone and kind of lost, actually…like he hadn’t been in such a situation in a long time.
