The only SEC team Urban Meyer has beaten on the road is Kentucky?

I am pretty sure that is true. The funny thing is I wanna say he is 1-3 on the road against SEC teams. The great Ron Zook was 7-3 on the Road against SEC teams. Pretty good stat... lol

Go VOLS

If it weren't for the bizarre LSU implosion last year, that would have been the only SEC road win for the Vols too...so I'm failing to see the point. :p

THE POINT was that in Meyers first year he only won ONE away game. And I was just adding to what FREAK was saying, Im pretty sure Zooks first year they were 2-1.

I grinned when I heard that as well. I love hearing about Florida's stats against the Appalachian State Chess Team and Northeastern Alaska State as well.

Stats are kind of fun to look at.

Here's one that I get a chuckle out of:

Phil Fulmer against top 10 teams at home: 5-9
Phil Fulmer against top 10 teams at home since 2000: 1-6

Until beating Cal at home 2 weeks ago, Fulmer had not beaten a top 10 team at home since the turn of the century. I wonder if he can make it 2 in a row after such a long dry spell?

I would say he has a pretty good shot at it.

Just out of curiosity..how many top 10 teams has Florida beaten at home?

Under Meyer we're 1-0 against top 10 teams at home.
I don't have time right now to compile top 10 since 2000, but I think it's about .500, IIRC.

You must mean a wonderful story of Clausen having his way with his former team who thought he wasn't good enough to play in the SEC. That was a win, anyway, and that was LSU, not Kentucky. WE beat Kentucky last year...nothing to hang your hat on, OAB.

Florida beat Vandy last year, IIRC. I wasn't going to bring it up, but you kind of backed me into it. :whistling:

Beware throwing stones from glass houses.
Yeah, I've noticed the refs seem to have a fancy for helping you all win game...I know you're going to bring up 2004 for us, but I believe Jabar Gaffney got a call similar to that a few years before that, so I guess you could call that even?

Never even. The Gators will always be one up on us when it comes to "blown calls" or "no calls"!:p

Pretty selective in making your point, isn't it? Here are a few more to "chuckle" about...

Fulmer has won 77.6% of his games as UT head coach since 1992 over 167 games (130-37). That's still the best among active coaches in the land. And interestingly, in all but one of those 37 losses, the other team cheated, lol...just kidding. (Numerous sites)

Tennessee maintains its standing as the winningest team in the SEC over the last 10 years in terms of victories and percentage (including a couple of ambitious fellows named Meyer and Spurrier). The Vols are 95-30 during that span for a percentage of .760, ranking them fifth nationally in percentage and sixth in wins. (The Sporting News)

UT has twelve first-round NFL selections since 1993 and a total of 64 players selected in the draft since 1996 to lead all schools in the nation. (UT sports.com)

Now, I concede that none of this means diddly on Saturday, but based on these stats, I think anyone should feel a little on the silly side to call Phillip Fulmer's record - in any capacity - into question.

Go Vols!

I have no argument with the fact that Fulmer's record is top among SEC coaches. I just responded to a selective quote (but relevant to this game) against Meyer with a selective (but relevant to this game) quote about Fulmer.

As you admitted, those superlative stats that you mentioned have little relevance to this game.
