Did Ryan Karl quit the team?

I am seeing posts on other boards that LB Ryan Karl quit the football team. Any corroboration out there?

Haven't heard about that... but if it is true, oh well. Maybe Rico McCoy or Adam Meyers-White would get their chance to step in and be a starter... I don't think the level of play would decrease too much.

With the Mitchell situtation this would be a huge hit. Hopefully this is just a rumor. He was worked his butt off as a no name recruit and earned serious consideration as a starter. So why would he quit now? Doesn't seem to make any sense...

I was joking. Neither of them quit. Mitchell got in trouble, but probably won't get kicked off the team. The Shell station on the strip is also known as "Rocky Top Markets" for those of you who didn't know.

From what I'm hearing, Karl did quit. I've heard 2 reasons and it maybe be either or both: 1. he lost his passion for the game and 2. he has back problems.

As for MM, he has said that if he is suspended for an amount of games(I'm assuming more than 1) he will transfer to a 1-AA school for his senior year.

According to Brent Hubbs who has talked to Karl in person the rumor is completely false and is ready to go this fall.
