Not knocking CBJ I'm glad someone took the job but did we even look at Taggart? This guy is a rising star with a Harbaugh/Stanford background. Teaches hard nose sound fundamental football. Personally he was my top choice even over Strong. I know he coaches at WKU but if your not hiring a head coach at a major University does it really matter if it's Louisville, Cincinnati or Western Kentucky? Players and recruits would love this guy.

I don't think any school looked at him. Three years is probably to soon to move up.

Your right he's only 35 and 3 years at WKU may not prepare him for the SEC but Taggart is going to make someone a very very good coach.

Needs to prove himself at a second tier school first IMO. He'll get that chance at USF.

The OG's (and everyone else on here) would have had to be placed on suicide watch if this name was brought up. We're the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, Damn it. No way we're get our coach from WKU! Just kidding. He's a good young coach that may do well at USF.

Glad for Taggart, but I agree with others. He's not ready for the big time yet.

He is 16-20, even a worse record than Dooley. If some are complaining about CBJ and being 50-27a then I hate to see how they would have acted hiring a guy thats 16-20works in his career.

You're an idiot Jason hate to break it to you. He started at a program two yrs into their FBS life and one year off an 0-12 season. No coach in that situation is going to have a great record. What a good coach shows is improvement, and Willie did just that. From 0-12 to 2-10 to 7-5 and second place conference finish to 7-5 with a win over an SEC team and a bowl game.
