There are more 6'6 guys playing college basketball on more teams than ever. There are more slashers. There are more playmakers. That means closer games and more upsets. Get used to it.
Check out the scores this weekend and there will be tight games and a couple of upsets.
Don't start freaking out about a basketball team because they didn't win by 30. I'd expect to be rusty. I'd rather not look unbeatable right now.

Looked like a lot of opening nights to me. Not perfect by any stretch, but its opening night so I'm not too picky. They're almost always rough around the edges.

I looked around and you're right. Seems some of the slower types from other forums, Pearl devotees, and general idiots tend to wander in here.

Should be entertaining. I'm still amazed at how clueless some UT fans can be about basketball.

This post made me feel a lot better.

As I said in the game thread, I'm a big time flip-flopper when it comes to my sports teams. I panic all too easily. And then I'll turn around and predict a national championship. I hate it, but it's the way I am.

Anyway, good post. You are definitely right. No win comes easy in NCAA basketball.

No, it's exactly what I would expect on a ogre board, but with the titles flipped for the games. That's how fan boards work. Except this one has gone all Armageddon on the football team. Thank the good lord for basketball season.

Maybe because this game was never really close. UT was up by 27 and just mentally checked out. KSU was never in a position to win. UT was actively milking the clock at the end of the game.

I didn't see the Memphis exhibition. But it is my understanding that it was the other way around. Memphis only put the game away late after struggling for most of the game.

UT dominated a lesser opponent for 30 minutes and then succumbed to bad habits and lack of focus for about 5 minutes. Memphis struggled with a lesser opponent for 37 minutes and only played well when they were in danger of being embarrassed.

I'm sure that CBU is the #16 ranked DII team and Kennesaw is garbage. Just because they played UT close doesn't mean they're a better team this year, they've regressed each season since moving up to DI.

That was a scrappy team that the Vols played. I admit UT had a bit of a let-down and let them back in , but those Kennessaw boys never stopped fighting. We'll be fine...especially after Maymon comes back.
