Dillon Baxter Kicked off Team at USC

Arguably his three best players from that class are busts. Two (Ambles and Baxter) are off the team and Prater hasn't done anything.

Kiffin can't afford that either. With sanctions in place, missing on top recruits isn't an option. It's the same problem he had recruiting here. The 2009 class is in shambles, and a handful of guys that decommitted from 2010 have been subsequently kicked off the team they signed with.

RT @GregBiggins: Don't be surprised if Dillon Baxter wind up at #SDSU if he doesn't work things out at #USC. He came close to signing there

"The decision has been made for Dillon Baxter to focus on his academics," Kiffin said in a statement Tuesday. "As he does so, he will not be part of our football program.

So he failed his classes? Brilliant.

Kiffin's hit rate on his classes hasn't been the greatest so far.

Kiffy set's higher standards for his players than most coaches. Just because he actually kicks players off his teams doesn't mean his teams behave that much more badly.

More Badly. Sounds like a rassler.

A search for "more badly" brought up this image, so you may not be too far off.

I'm not here to flame, or get into any Kiffin arguments... but just wanted to point out that Baxter is not kicked off the team, suspended, or transferring as of right now.

He's doing exactly what the press release says; focusing on academics because he has fallen behind.

In other words, he's gone.

I'd link a premium article with direct quotes from his Dad, but you wouldn't be able to read it anyway. According to the quotes, he has no plans to leave USC.

Of course, that is only applicable right now. It could change tomorrow, or after the season.

He isn't able to transfer without penalty, so he would have to sit out 1 year anywhere he goes.

No big loss. Unless the kid gets his head screwed on straight and earns the right to play football. I hope the kid gets things turned around and goes to play for a reputable coach. Here's to wishing USC the worst of luck.

Incredible. 5* players really seem to bust often, but I guess we don't pay attention to all the 3* + 4* who bust
