Dillon Baxter

On being named Ken Hall player of the year:

“It was a great honor, and I want to thank everyone who nominated me for the award. I want to thank the O-Line and my receivers who got me here, my coach Willie Matson. It's a great honor to accept this award.”

Did you expect that you would have the kind of season you did (nearly 5,000 yards of total offense, 75 touchdowns)

“I had no idea. But after my first game, I kind of broke out and went from there.”

On the Army All-American Bowl experience:

“This has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Playing against these great athletes has been fun, and way more challenging than it was back at home – I can tell you that.”

Are you still committed to USC?

“I'm not de-committed, but I'm not sure how much longer I will be there, either. I've been committed there since my freshman year, and Pete Carroll is gone now. So, I'll just have to see where things go.”

Are any schools coming after you hard right now (rumored to be Michigan and Tennessee – among others)?

“Yeah.”

Do any of those schools interest you?

“Yeah, there are some schools who want me to play quarterback. I just have to see where things go, talk with all the coaches, and see where I can fit in.”

Tn. wouldn't want him for QB would they?

thanks for the info VF. You have to think we are going after him hard, but it doesn't seem likely he will come here because of the competition he would have. Then again, Kiff uses some of the same lines that USC uses about the best players playing whether they are a freshman or not. It's not like USC doesn't have the same if not better competition than us.

I hope he comes with Prater to visit and the both of them commit this weekend together!!! Probly wishful thinking but, come on guys, those two would push this class with some OL and a LB to a studfest of talent!!!

Baxter is a player.... We could sell him on some wildcat stuff. We need a good back in this class and he would fit the mold.

Hubbs said we Kiffin, Coach O, and Monte where in San Antone they spoke with as many as four families. I thought they where Willis's, Dixon's, Prater's, but I didn't know who the last one could have been. It may have been Baxter's. I am not sure if the kid is a EE or not. But watch the visit list this last month. We are going to see some big names. It wouldn't suprise me at all to see Baxter....

Baxter is far and away the best RB prospect in the country.

Seastrunk is probably the most overated in the country and I think Lattimore is way overhyped as well.

I still like Dyer the best myself. But Baxter is a great back IMO.

Everyone says everyday around here about how good a recruiting staff we have. I have a feeling we are going to see the payoffs of that over the next month around here.

It is going to be fun!!!
