Cast looks good but not sure about the movie plot. Plus, after all these years, I'm starting to tire of Carell's same old idiot character we see every time he's on camera.

The first trailier I saw looked pretty funny.

But I agree about Carell. He's going down the same road Will Ferrell has gone, where the thing he did to get famous is quickly becoming annoying.

Saw a trailer last night and it dawned on me that I had seen this idea before.

It is based on Les Dinner de Cons - A french movie that is basically a contest to see who can bring the biggest idiot to dinner.

Here's an idea for a movie - Steve Carrell acting like an idiot the entire time. It's new and exciting...

I just got back from seeing it. It wasn't what I expected at all. It was a really deep movie. I really enjoyed it.

The previews made it look like it. In the original though, the dinner never occurs - it's basically a "play" style movie with virtually all the action taking place in one apartment (kinda like The Odd Couple). My guess is the original could have been a play before a movie.

In the original, the main "idiot" makes things out of toothpicks like the Eiffel Tower - in the preview for Schmucks it looks like Carrell makes hamster dolls.

Saw it last night - definitely had some laughs in it. Carrell was very good as was Zack G.
