I switched from Comcast to DirecTV at the beginning of December when I moved. The product has been outstanding, but the billing department gets an F. I was overcharged on each of my first two bills and had to call in to get them fixed; second time required three calls to work it out, because even their own people had trouble making sense out of the random string of charges and credits that appear on their bills, with no logical breakdown or separation. Everyone I talked to agreed I was being overcharged. Then, they randomly billed me for not returning a receiver - even though I have two receivers and continue to use both of them. I got that fixed by calling again. It's incredible - I have only had two actual bills, and they've over-billed me three times. If they screw up my third bill, they'll match a record held by several MLB pitchers - four strikeouts in one inning (four billing issues in three months).

I'm thinking about switching from Comcast, but can anyone tell me if DirecTV offers the following?

It allows you to search by sport. For example, I can see what basketball games are being televised by channel by time with Comcast. As far as I can tell, DirecTV only shows you sports channels. That doesn't do me any good if UT is playing on a "non sports" channel. This one feature keeps me at Comcast even though my bill is averaging about $230 per month with bundled cable, internet, and phone.

On Direct TV, just type in Tennessee and it will show you where the game is being telecast.

DirecTV offers a sports package that gives you just about every regional sports channel in the country. And, I have seen MSG of all channels show the SEC games that CSS has.

Just be careful when you receive a bill from DirecTV, per my above post. Check it.

Make that 4 Ks in 1 inning, lol.
Unless the credits don't appear at the same time as the charges, DTV has overbilled me yet again. They owe me 91 dollars in credits. DTV advertises three free months of all movies for new subscribers. They have delivered on that promise, and it's been great having those channels, but I've also had to call during all three billing periods to remind them that I'm supposed to get that free for three months. The rest of the 91 bucks is the discount I am getting on the tier, which I believe lasts for a full year, and the free HD content, which lasts as long as I stay with them.

Like I keep saying, DTV puts out a really nice product, but their billing department is the worst I have ever seen in any industry. Absolutely unbelievably beyond terrible. Why is it so hard to correct my account so that I'm properly billed?

DTV is consistantly rated the worst or one of the worst companies in customer satisfaction

DTV: Product gets an A. The only thing preventing an A+ is that the On Demand could be better; Comcast actually has more user-friendly On Demand menus/content. Customer Service gets a C. Billing gets an F.

Never had one billing or customer service problems with direct and I've been with them for 5 years. Comcast was full of problems in all areas. I lose my Comcast Internet about once a month and the only time DTV went out in the last year was when a tornado came through

Not disclaiming your woes. My personal exp with DTV is great. No doubt they make mistakes, but Comcast is full of fail.

See and I've never had a problem with Comcast haha. Actually called to cancel to switch because their price raised and she lowered my bill $50.
