going to see my first dirt track race this saturday in Missouri at I-55 raceway....Ken Schrader owns the tracks and is runnin his late model.....anyone been there??

Been a while but yeah have been there. Some pretty good racin there when I went, but it has been prolly 7 years or so ago.

Have been to a lot of tracks in the south and some in the midwest. Used to work with a couple of traveling series and would go with a couple of drivers some when I was not working the race. There are some cool places around, and every one is different and unique in their own way.

nothing better than dirt, in my opinion, fun skedaddles to watch....AlabamaVolunteer, is that your Hound in your avatar?

Dirt track racing is the best racing around. I have seen Schrader race in his late model tons of times and he kicks a$$. You will have a great time!

MAN... It's been a long time since I've been to a dirt race. Not since 2002, probably. My uncle used to be a prominent racer in Eastern Illinois / Western Iowa. He raced late model and, if I remember correctly, won every single race in the 1999 season at the track in Aledo, IL. I grew up working on race cars... it's been so long, though.

I always heard that asphalt was for getting to the races, heh.

We used to go to the track in Crossville and Baxter every now and then. I remember being at the Baxter track during a UT football game in 1998. They announced the final score over the PA system, I think that was the night they trounced Houston.

well the races got cut short bc of rain and schrader didnt get to fly in bc he got rain delayed at the truck race......however, the heat races were very entertaining and beer was only $2 :rock: plan to go back again this saturday

I'm glad that you got a little taste of the best racing around. Wait until you get to see a feature race. You will be going back for more.
