Of the many things that I was dissapointed in last night at the game, one of the things that stands out is the attendance. If anybody hasn't heard, the attendance was a mere 106,000 plus. Compared to other college stadiums, this is still good. But by Tennessee standards, its not something to be proud of. I hate the idea of Hamilton taking out seats to improve the quality. Sure it makes things nicer for us the fans, but I really dont like the fact that we are declining as one of the nations largest football stadiums. While other stadiums are building up, we are decreasing in size. Is anybody else bothered by this or is it just me?

One thing you have to consider is that the average butt is getting wider. I'd settle for 102k per game if it meant a little more room. At a game I went to last year, one person in our row called the usher to check tickets--it was so tight on our row that he was sure that someone didn't belong. Everyone produced their ticket stubs and was in fact where they were supposed to be.

I still haven't figured out what is so disappointing about 106,000 people in attendance. Is it really that heartbreaking?

Also seats were moved around to put moore students closer to the field a good thing, it's for our team. The box seat will put moore money into the scholarship program. I view it as all good.

I'm not a skinny person (by a long shot), so don't take this as a real dig, but it amazes me that, on average, UT has the narrowest seats and the widest fans of any of the schools whose stadiums that I've visited.

IMHO, the stadium should hold closer to 100,000, and give folks an extra couple of inches to work with in each seat.

I'm just not a small guy in any dimension. Perhaps the alterative is to require folks like me to buy two seats. Then again, that would also decrease the attendence.
