It doesn't show in the wins but I believe we have gotten better this year. This team doesn't give up and is disciplined to name two. Once these player get a grasp on the offense and the defense is able to make plays we will be in a bowl game next year this time.

Also add depth and speed and we good to go

i was impressed with how the team stayed out of penalty problems all year
with the exception of tiny, who obviously couldn't hear the snap count

The list is ordered by penalty yds/game. So, we actually didn't have the least penalties, or even the least per game. What we did have was the least penalty yds/game. Arkansas had the least penalties and penalties/game, just for 1 more yd per game than us.

That stuff primarily started when Dobbs took over.

Or it could be said it started when we were facing the really fast defensive lines????? Not sure what Dobbs would have to do with it as much as the linemen feeling that they have to get off the line really fast.

If Arky and us led the Sec. in least amount of penalties maybe we need to commit more.

IMO being the least penalized is THE most overrated positive stat! If you are talented enough, overcoming penalties is not a problem. LSU is consistently year in and year out one of the most penalized teams in the SEC, yet they always seem to have good to great seasons.

If youve never played the line then its hard to understand but the change of qb is a big deal. little things like a difference cadence can disrupt your set routine pretty quick. a different qb changes things a ton. different plays that u may not be used to. Different tempo, sound etc..
