Sadly, had UT won the SEC E. in 15 & 16 Butch would've been given a lifetime contract. Winning a division doesn't automatically make a team good/great. Someone has to win the division. The SEC E. between 13-16 was absolute garbage.

That's hyperbole, but he would have been given another contract extension, to be sure, and it would have bought him another couple years after 2017. He'd probably still be the coach today, likely coming into 2019 on a massive hot seat.

2017 still would have been 4-8 even if we won the East in 2015 and/or 2016, and the heat would have been on after that.

Not necessarily. Talent wise, that wasn't a 4-8 team. Once the wheels came off the team quit. It happens.

It's kinda funny you boasting about outlaws, or fighters, or warriors...to a state who's nickname came from wartime. Volunteers. As in a state full of people who give more than most, willingly. If that's your bragging right, you're basically bragging to a state who's produced way more tough men than Missouri.

Good one but I heard Missouri was created by splitting Arkansas. That is what heard, not sure if it is true.

UT should have beaten the tigers (original name there) by 21. The fan response, uniforms and the stadium look like a high school team. I’m still ashamed that the SEC let that low rent program into the conference. Enjoy Dooley and finishing at the bottom of the East for the next decade.

Haha. Good call. I had completely forgotten about the NCAA stuff. I don’t think I would waste an appeal to spend Christmas preparing for a 6-6 UNC or some other crappy Coastal ACC team.
