Just ended my long membership to TOS and wanted to come here and vent to the family for a moment.
Fact is Jones may be great in the future, who knows? But with Cheek and nerds running things and an Alabama AD, it would seem hiring a coach with ties to the state of Michigan, Ohio and the midwest too take over a program in Tennessee is a far reach.
His vast 6 years of experience will not be impressive to current players or future recruits. A very long way fom the Tennessee football model of Doug Dickey and President Johnson.
There was a huge amount of money in place to hire a coach and your current AD decided that he would handle things, well the destruction has been completed. AN UNBELIEVABLE DECISION.
Whether this coach is successful or not really is not the issue. There is no LONGER an Orange feel to UT and that is the biggest mistake of all.This program has no identity.
Bad academic standards for atheletic comp,
Bad departmental leadership
Bad Athletic Director
Bad handling of the Summitt situation
Bad hires across the board, Martin included.
Hope the administration has enjoyed the complete highjacking of a once very proud program. Because the word pride, for this group of people has escaped me.. :hi:
