Do we get Chris Singleton?

Singleton was at the game yesterday for the beating we put on Vandy. He said he really liked the visit and thinks that Pearls up-tempo system would be a perfect fit for him. Also mentioned that the crowd being so into the game was his favorite part.

He said he really enjoyed the visit and got to shoot around, talk with the players & coaches. He likes the way Tennessee plays and thinks he thinks he would be a great fit. He says he doesn't have a leader, but he says Tennessee is in there solid.

I know nothing about Chris Singleton. Would someone please give me some info about him?

Nov. 16, 2000.

He died of a heart attack. The media said it was a codeine overdose or just a result of all the codeine over time. Z-Ro (From Screwed Up Click) believes someone slipped Ice (Meth) into his codeine.. And I'm with my boy Z-Ro.

For all those who are wondering who he is just DL something of his. Ever heard a song chopped and screwed? That's all Screw, man. He created that, but unfortunately kats like Michael Watts want to claim that throne. Screw changed the game in Texas and is a true legend. Lil' Flip, Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Bun B & Lil' Keke would have never blown up big if it weren't for him. I met him in '99 and he became my idol...

I'm goin' to stop right there, because I can talk on and on and on about Screw.

He's 6'9, 215 and is in the class of '08. He's listed as the 16th Small Forward, and the 86th player in the nation per Rivals. He has offers from Clemson, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and Tennessee.

That's not much, but it's all I got.

He is a long athletic 6'9 PF who has the ability to extend the defense with his 3-point shooting. He is a great fit for Pearl's style.

I've heard of DJ Screw. He is the one who started the whole movement, but I think Watts carried the torch further. I used to listen to Free Style Kings and Swisha House back in my college days. Back when Chamillionaire was just Chamillion and Mike Jones was just a "who"? I heard someone slipped something in Screw's "purple stuff," but that was just rumored.

ANYWAY, about Singleton...I hope we get him. He's gotta smooth game. At 6'9 and 215, he's got a solid jumper and can knock down the 3-ball. Some say he's the only one who can handle former recruit J.J. Hickson down in GA. We can only hope we land him. Wouldn't mind getting him, Darius Miller, and Elliot Williams. But I think it may come down to Singleton, Williams, and Phillip Jurick out of Chattanooga.

he sounds a lot like wayne chism.. he has a real big frame and can step out and hit a shot from behind the arc

I honestly think he has a much smoother game than Chism. Chism has been looking impressive as of late too. Singleton has more of a Kevin Durant style of game, but not as dominant as Durant. Durant is an absolute beast. But I wouldn't mind having a player that has his skill set though.

Im just not a fan of the one and done players, but it worked for 'Cuse with Melo

Yeah me neither. With the exception of Melo, having players go one and done hurts teams more than helps team. Coaches have to try and fill the void that is left and the fans want another high caliber player. But I think Chris Singleton will need a couple of years to develop into a great player. He's got a lot of potential and he'll make a big impact on our team his freshman year if he comes. But I think the one and done's are few and far between...with the exception of the freshman class of '06-'07.

Yep.. Good days, we called Chamillionaire King Koopa down here. I definately liked Mike Jones' underground stuff, when he didn't say 'Who!?' every 15 seconds.

The only thing Watts did was make it more wide-spread. Watts still can't compare, that's for sure.. Back in the day, everyone wanted to buy from Screw but the thing is he never sold his tapes to the big guys.. So his stuff really never got around too well to blow up.. it was just from one pipeline.. that's how he wanted it.
