If you like Jr. , why ?

If you dont like Jr. , why ?

Who do you like and for what reasons ?

I've been a Dale Sr. fan for as long as I can remember and I really like Jr. too , but I dont know if I would have started off being a Jr. fan had it not been for Dale Sr.

I think Jr. is probably one of the classiest guys on the track , but now , I pull for him because he drives a CHEVY more than anything .


What do yall think about Dale Jr..

I like Jr. because he has a good attitude, he drives a NASCAR approved box with a Chevy motor in it, he drives for Rick Hendrick and he is a clean race car driver.

I also like Jeff Gordon because I became a fan of Jeff's when a.) Richard Petty retired and b.) Rusty Wallace switched from a GM to a Ford (now I realize it doesn't mean much but I was about 13 years old at the time). He was the new guy when I was looking for a new driver. I then liked Jimmie Johnson also because he was Gordon's driver and teammate (the way Jr. fans would pull for Truex) and his success made it easier to be a fan. I also pull for Casey Mears because he is the odd guy at Hendrick that never seems to have much success so when he does it is cool to watch. I am just a Hendrick fan pretty much.

I like Jr because of his father. I know that's a terrible reason, but it is. It's unfortunate Jr has such terrible fans. The good majority of the Jr haters don't actually dislike Jr it's more with their hatred toward the Jr fans. It's like Gordon. I'm not a Gordon fan, but I don't show my displeasure by calling him names and throwing beer bottles at his car when he wins. I can recognize that he'll go down as one of the top 5 drivers in our sport. It's unfortunate that some people place too high of expectations on Jr hoping he'll be as good as Jeff. He'll never do that but that's nothing too be ashamed of.

Is this a generalazation of all his fans , I think that the majority of his fans are not this way . Of all the Jr. fans I know , I honestly cant think of one that would throw anything at any of the other drivers. ( I know some do ). When the #'s of fans for one driver are so mass maybe it seems that there are more disruptive fans than there really are , ecspecially compared to the amount of the fans of the other drivers . I really dont know though :dunno:

Jr has some fans that are either stupid or unable to comprehend the sport. Listening to some of them speak you'd think that Jr was considered the "King" or "Silver Fox" or "Intimidater" of Nascar

I'm not sure of the reasoning here 07 , are you saying that they are stupid because they are faithful to Jr. . There are alot of fans faithful to their favorite drivers and their drivers may have accomplished nothing . Also what are they not comprehending about Nascar . I'm not wanting to argue , I just am not following the logic .

They think that Jr is God's gift to Earth. There's a line between being supportive and being insane on your fan hood. I understand that Jr is a solid driver, but at the same time I also understand that he's not among the top 3 in Nascar right now. Most Jr fans seem to think that he's better than anyone in Nextel Cup right now. A lot of people hate Jr just because of how obnoxious his fans are.

I did not like or appreciate Dale Sr until very late in his career so, he had no bearing on what I thought about Jr. While he's not my favorite driver,he has always been among my favorites because of his good ole boy personality.I wish Theresa had come to her senses and given Jr control of DEI. Now that he is with HMS it's quite a bit harder for me to be a fan of his though.

I am not necessarily a fan of Dale Jr's, but I do like his personality. He's always an interesting interview and seems to be "one of the guys" while being the most popular driver in the series. He's entertaining on the radio during the race and seems to have fun. Most of his fans, on the other hand, are another story...

Is this similar to Jeff Gordons fans when he was beating Dale Sr. all the time , because I distinctly remember the taunting and the attitudes from his fans. ( I couldnt imagine HATING them over it ). All in all it just seems like jealousy because he has it all and really didn't have to do much to get it . :dunno:

I'm sure there are obnoxious Dale Jr. fans , but I think it's a stretch to assume that all or the majority of Dale Jr. fans are this way .

They're the main reason Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch are the two most hated drivers in Nascar. Saying that, I guess you can't go wrong as a driver when your fans are that faithful. I mean I'm a big fan of Harvick, Stewart, and Jr and I never really get that upset when they get caught up in a racing incident(exception being that idiot Pablo Wrecko last year at the Glen)

See the video of Gordon beating Jr at Dega in 05 I believe. That video tells you all I need to know about Jr's fans. or see Vickers wrecking Jr at Dega in 06. Those 2 pretty much tell the story.

I am not a Jr. fan, but I like him as far as his attitude. When you think of how much pressure he is under and the expectations of his fans, he is a class act. He is talented, just not as much as most of his fans think. At first I really didn't like him as I felt he got in on his name more than his skill, but I think he deserves a top ride now.

Some of you might guess that I like Mark Martin. He is talented, persistant, knows when he should settle for whatever the car is good for, and drives clean. You can bet there will be a brew or two hoisted in his honor when he wins again, maybe real soon! I have friends near Batesville who are acquainted with him, and they stay here for the Bristol races. It would be tremendous if he won here. I also like Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman, and Carl Edwards. I really don't care what car they drive.

I disagree, they are hated because of their own actions and attitudes. Kyle Busch needs to learn how to let stuff go instead he continues to taunt Jr. fans with his hand gestures such as pretending to wipe the tears away routine and his Dick Nixon "I'm not a crook" peace symbols he throwns up. There is a reason Hendrick let Busch go and Kept Casey Mears, obviously talent wasn't one of them. Denny Hamlin is a classic example of a guy with an ego that won't fit in his helmet. He has shown flashes of being a great driver, I'm sure he is very good but don't come into the sport and start running your mouth like your on Jeff Burton's level with some type of leadership role. He goes down to the Nationwide series and expects those guys, that are making a living also, to move over for him, because he is Denny Hamlin. Who cares, he's won like 4 races in his career and he wants to tell guys that he throws concrete blocks when guys throw rocks at him, what a joke. Brad Keselowski had every right to race Hamlin hard that night.

Most of the Jr. fans that I'm aquainted with are the same way that I am and dont like to see their driver lose but know it's a race and have no control over what happens . RB I'd love to see MM win in bristol or anywhere else . HE"S A CLASS GUY:yes:

Does anyone dislike Keselowski because of Jr's fans also ?

I like Keselowski, he is a good driver. I think I heard Jr. say he found Keselowski by playing him in online racing. I don't know if that is true but that would be a cool way to land a ride in NASCAR. I like Bobby Hamilton Jr. in the Nationwide Series because he is a local guy from Middle Tennessee.

It is unfair and illogical to dislike him for that reason, but we are talking NASCAR fans here aren't we. I like the guy until he shows me he doesn't deserve it.

I expect Mark to win before Bristol, I'm not even sure he will be racing there. I can see him doing well tomorrow.

Den, I like him because he seems down to earth, he needs a championship to solitify his name. SR. did his many times.:thumbsup:(His name)
